What about Mom's cooking?

My Mom's cooking was mostly very good. At times she would have some real blunders. Kool Aide without sugar, potato salad with raw potatoes, exploded eggs in the microwave to just name a few. She still made the best apple pie and that became my favorite thing she made. I have yet to find anyone that can compare with those pies. She could bake just about anything from scratch, but had a bad habit of not watching the time and would come rushing into the kitchen when Dad would say, "Do I smell something burning?"
